I walked away from this episode of the Nerdist Podcast episode #607 with Michael Ironside with the following feelings / thoughts
1. I love Ironside even more than before…..as a kid of the 1980’s he’s been in some seminal works like V, Total Recall, etc. He’s a bad ass and , after listening to his interview, I love him more. He’s Canadian, which makes hims awesome and funny and warm. But he’s also really deep and insightful and very aware of his time left on his earth. He got emotional a couple of times as he recalled these moments involving his kid and confronting ideas of death and the importance of maxing ou tthe time he has left. The episode was bittersweet, melancholic, and, ultimately, a re-affirmation that time left is precious and Canadians are awesome.
2. Chris Hardwick continues to be charming and great at interviewing. Nothing new to report. He did brazenly offer a bit of dime store psychology diagnosis to Ironside which I thought was interesting.
Nerdist continues to deliver awesome interviews. Give it a listen.
